Durban Beach otherwise known as “The Golden Mile” runs from uShaka Marine World to the newly built Suncoast Casino and Entertainment World to the north. It runs parallel to the CBD of Durban to its west.

Durban beach is a leisure paradise and one of the major tourist attractions in the city of Durban.The beaches have a broad expanse of golden sand, divided by various piers. Bask in the sub-tropical sunshine while you sun tan and enjoy swimming in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Lifeguards and shark nets are standard at most of Durban’s beaches. Surfing is very popular and Durban beach is a world famous Surfing destination. In particular, The South Beach end is well-known amongst locals as a safe site for neophyte surfing. The impressive high rise buildings that dot the Beach are a collage of tourist hotels, residential apartments, beachfront properties , several popular restaurants and nightclubs.
